About Goju-Ryu Karate


Goju-Ryu means “Hard-Soft Style,” combining hard linear strikes with soft circular movements. It is known for its powerful close-range techniques, deep-rooted stances, and dynamic breathing exercises (Sanchin Kata) that cultivate internal energy, focus, and discipline.

The International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Federation (I.O.G.K.F.) is one of the world’s leading traditional karate organizations, dedicated to preserving and promoting the authentic teachings of Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate as passed down from its founder, Chojun Miyagi Sensei.

Founded in 1979 by Morio Higaonna Sensei, a 10th Dan and world-renowned master of Goju-Ryu Karate, the I.O.G.K.F. has grown into a global organization with member dojos in over 60 countries. Its mission is to maintain the purity, discipline, and cultural heritage of traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu through consistent training, international standards, and a strong sense of community among its practitioners.

As an official I.O.G.K.F. dojo, we follow the authentic teachings of Goju-Ryu Karate, as passed down from the style’s founder Chojun Miyagi Sensei, and preserved by I.O.G.K.F. founder Morio Higaonna Sensei (10th Dan).
